It's very easy to get pigeonholed as a creative, especially as a woman in mainstream comics. I proposed doing a short story with Janet that would be very different, something dark and sci-fi. Murder and blood. What fun! Here is that story from 2013:

When it comes to mainstream media it's fair to say it has never matched or even attempted to match the story telling of more niche media.
If something needs to appeal to everyone it literally can't take the risks required to be an amazing creation.
Most people prefer generic shit

I remember Jenny Slate was writing a Live Action/CGI Looney Tunes movie back in 2012.

It got shelved, but Slate said "It was very, very fun to write it, but in the end, I don’t think I was able to be as formulaic and mainstream as that movie needs".

Curious about the pitch.

Great taste! Snail Mail is so underrated imo
This is mine btw, not the least mainstream but it has always had a special connection to me since many songs from this album are some of my fave tunes to play on my guitar

Denny O'Neil's Green Lantern/Green Arrow run tackled issues of police brutality, racism, drug abuse, and other social issues that were considered taboo in the mainstream comics of the 70s. Stories that remain relevant TO THIS DAY.

The loss of this man is truly heartbreaking.

Sometimes I share more mainstream stuff I commissioned from you & it does well even as a reply to other things, like this Sega piece.
Maybe a balance between niche commissions & broader appeal stuff would help?
I also never see you announce commissions availability here.
