The character designs for Animaniacs actually went through many different stages. At one point there were ideas to have the characters be redesigned.

But as you can see from the trailer, they eventually stuck with slightly tweaking the original designs

Here’s the image, without all the digital paint moving about. - I might go back and redesign that tower a little, as this was all just done on the fly with no planning, I think tweaking that tower might help.
