Fun fact. Found the Yokai.

Almudron is based on the Dorotabō Yokai, a mud spirit that takes the form of a grumpy old man that wants to protect his rice fields.

Looks like through the wizened, masculine face that this is the inspiration, not to mention the usage of mud.
