Having a play around with black shadows. Something I never really tried to recreate, so I played around to see what looked nice and what works.

I wanted to keep it fairly simple (I forgot the flowers on the dress), it’s still a cute outfit.

i haven’t uploaded anything lately because im working on a group commission, but here’s something I did for a client also. I’m starting to feel more relax with paint over on lights and shadows. But still im looking for a brush to achieve a more paintery feel.

Actually, most 3D games prior to the era of shadowmaps being everywhere used transparent meshes to create shadows. Many games even used a dynamic version of this for interactive cast shadows, called “shadow volumes”!
