Good evening everyone! Tonight’s pterosaur of the day is Quetzalcoatlus! Quetzalcoatlus was a pterosaur that lived during the Cretaceous period. It was found in North America. It’s name is derived from the Aztec god Quetzalcoatl. See you explorers tomorrow!🤠

The amphibians Trematosaurus and proto-frog Triadobatrachus were also new ones to me, while the leggy crocodylomorph Terrestrisuchus and pterosaur Caelestiventus were more my usual thing.

Amigos y amigas.

Wukongopterus was the first pterosaur found with a head more similar to Cretaceous species and a long tail more similar to older species. This was evidence of modular evolution i.e. body parts changing through time independently of the rest of the body

I'm late for but better late than never, right? Here's some of Cimoliopterus, one of the last of the toothed pterosaurs. The genus seems to have been widespread, occurring in both Britain and the United States.
