🪶#folktaleweek day 5: BIRD - The Black Hen🪶
In folk tales, black hens are found guarding treasure and it’s said they represent the dead owner of the treasure. If you’re kind and patient, you might get to share in the wealth.✨

Dame Flora MacCleod, the chief of the clan, got some scraps of the shawl for the MacLeods serving as pilots in the RAF, and it is said that none of them was shot down in the whole Battle of Britain during WWII!

Day 5 BIRD

“When Robins appear, loved ones are near”

This little bird is a beautiful reminder that loved ones are never too far away. Linked to various folklores, I believe the Robin is a messenger of love and joy.

It took me a while, but I'm happy with it. Running even more late! 😅

The poem 'Love in the Asylum' by Dylan Thomas was what partly inspired this little painting (as well as a dream I had where I was harbouring birds under my skirt).
And I'm sharing it for today's prompt, BIRD.

⭐️ Day 5 - Bird ⭐️

The moon sprites were now in a hurry, the night was starting to fade. They had spent so long feasting they couldn’t remember the wish. Recalling only part of the dream they gave Roxy wings so she could fly… https://t.co/zMSXEwmK0X

"This one's got Phoenixes and Dragons!", says Bo
as she, Hou, and a few moonbun friends enjoy a twinkling feast of moonbooks.

I haven't been tweeting enough about Folktale Week! Here are my 4 pieces for the first 4 days!

Thought I’d join the party with today’s theme which I believe is Feast, although this piece is technically not about a folktale but is loosely based on a Korean children’s song about animals’ birthday party in a park 🦊

It’s and the prompt for DAY 4 is “Feast” 😋

I created this illustration for the wonderful theatre play ‘Jabala and the Jinn’, a play written by for children and families. This play is an AIK production.
