Use the sources in this lesson to investigate the role played by male supporters, or ‘suffragettes in trousers’ during the campaign for votes for women. https://t.co/y7zA8sXe1k #History #HistoryTeacher #Suffrage
Les suffragettes étaient forcément des femmes frustrées car pas mariée. Ou alors mal-aimées, manipulatrices et ne savaient pas cuisiner comme les "vraies" femmes.
Our march is over! This is our final tweet for the @MarchoftheWomen project. Future #Surrey #suffrage stories will be posted @SurreyHeritage. Heartfelt thanks to all our volunteers, staff & supporters of the last 2yrs who have helped reveal Surrey’s suffrage story @HeritageFundUK
i saw this amazing anti-suffragette postcard and simply had to redraw it 🙊
“That women should have the suffrage, I think no one can be more deeply convinced than I... but it will probably be years before you obtain it.” Flo was right; it wasn’t until 1928 that women over 21 were finally given the vote. Use your vote today! #VotingDay #votingmatters
It seems very appropriate to be writing about #EthelSmyth and the women's #suffrage movement today.
By the mid-1910s American Illustrator Rose O'Neill (1874-1944) was reported to be the highest paid woman illustrator in the business. She also played a noted advocacy role in the campaign for women's suffrage, achieved in 1920.

While the fight for votes for women has long been regarded as a movement led and supported by women, it is important to recognize that men participated in the struggle, both in and outside Parliament. Find out more: https://t.co/JHGHwWJWDP #History #HistoryTeacher #Suffrage
Katherine Sophie Dreier (1877-1952) was a painter and active suffragette.
St Catherine’s Church, Hatcham, allegedly the target of a #Suffragette bomb in 1913. The postcard's message from 'Blanche' (clearly unsympathetic to the Suffragette cause) mentions the event and the death of Emily Wilding Davison (8511/169/1-2) #ActionArchives @MarchoftheWomen

@bueti Thanks for speaking up for #Hongkongers . The CCP and its puppets don't want to honour the Basic Law and 1 country 2 systems. They have deprived us of the rights of universal suffrage, freedom of speech, press, assembly etc and made arbitrary arrests. They have to be sanctioned.

New in: Votes for Catherine Susan and Me, 1910, by Kathleen Ainslie - in which the two dolls embark on a campaign of women's suffrage... with something of a cop out ending after they tire of prison life and promise to go home quietly 🤔 https://t.co/a84wDIE4zD
