Leonora Carrington was a British-born Mexican artist, surrealist painter. In her art, her dreamlike, often highly detailed compositions of fantastical creatures in otherworldly settings are based on an intensely personal symbolism.

Can’t believe I haven’t posted yet. Hi, I’m Elijah. I’m a 21 year old black/white transman in college for art. I mostly do character design and symbolism. Recently, I’ve started trying painting and I kinda enjoy it. Oh, but most importantly, I’m a human being.

Can you tell that I've been in a mood recently?

I just really wanted to draw Emil. So here's Emil. Holding Ratatosk's Core, because physical impossibilities are great for symbolism.

🌙sun/moon symbolism. Erwin is mostly seen facing towards the brighter side while levi lurks in the shadow.

that’s why the title is midnight sun.
that’s why levi’s original OST titled dark side of the moon

Local man practices drowning a squirrel before going after his ex.
(Yes I have used the squirrel as a small symbolism.)
Aaa I'm probably late but here is fanart for Your animatic was so pleasant to look at and I absolutely adored the AU idea! You earned a new sub!

I made a series of fairies based off of colors with personalities inspired by traditional color symbolism.

4 top monster designs. As you can guess, I have a very soft spot for symbolism. Mantid from The Void and Pyramid Head both embodies the terrible, emotional self-mutilating nature of masculinity. Also dad Monster.

(+SMT III sarasvati because she saved my butt countless times.) https://t.co/ZYFQVKqVjs

Akiya Kageichi's fantasy illustrations are full of dark mysticism & chaotic symbolism. Reminiscent of Klimt, who was himself inspired by Japanese art, but also--if you're a fan of games--there's similarities with Yoshitaka Amano's work & even the Tarot cards from DA: Inquisition.

If there's one thing I know about my work, it's that I carry a lot of strength in symbolism. In my family, the birds shown here hold a lot of significance.

Woke up to the sad news yesterday that had passed. I always enjoy looking at her art -- so much love, emotion and symbolism. She provided inspiration and encouragement. Her positivity was contagious. May you rest in peace and happiness.
