Glad to have collected this sumptuous 1/1 monochrome by @RegRurutu, titled The Reader, after Fragonard.

the cover is aping “The Swing” by Jean-Honoré Fragonard, with 99% of the background elements totally obfuscated. as you can see i’m definitely not a painter, which makes my decision to make this the cover even more puzzling, but i’m just a puzzling human being, baby!

@ElizabethWelke has me browsing through Fragonard paintings, who knew.. The Visit to the Nursery, c. 1775, National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C. Would that every family was like this one:)
Lovely visit to the @WallaceMuseum. Their main collection (free to visit) is exceptional. And their current special exhibition on 18th century French art which inspired #Disney was fascinating. Hadn't spotted Fragonard's The Swing's (in Wallace's main collection) cameo in Frozen.

Que reste-t-il de nos amours ?
Que reste-t-il de ces beaux jours ?
Une photo, vieille photo
De ma jeunesse
Que reste-t-il des billets doux ?
Des mois d'Avril, des rendez-vous?
Un souvenir qui me poursuit
Sans cesse
