Another #SciArtSeptember! Day two was 'little known' and I used it to draw one of my favorite lesser-known North American mammals, the spotted skunk 🦨
Roseate spoonbill for day 3 of #SciArtSeptember and the #rosy prompt.
Day three of #SciArtSeptember and today's prompt is 'Rosy'. Couldn't find a perfect match for the theme but here is my clown fish illustration that somewhat fits the theme!

When I found this Pacific rock crab on the beach years ago, I was drawn to the pinkish hue the shell had taken on after fading and getting tossed in the waves. So it seems like a great fit for the #SciArtSeptember “rosy” prompt! 🦀

Day 2 #SciArtSeptember: Little-Known
Here we have the Pointy-Nosed Blue Chimaera, aka the ghostshark
👻+🦈
I don’t know much about them, so it’s been fun reading some articles about them like this National Geographic one:

Saw this art challenge popping up on my feed and wanted to join 😁 #SciArtSeptember
1: Earthly
Immediately thought of termite mounds cause they’re super cool ventilated structures, and they can be really old (I.e. 1000+ years old)

Large in size but there’s still much to learn about the giant squid (and the sperm whale too) 🦑 Day 2: Little-known for #SciArtSeptember (ok I haven’t made anything new that I can actually share in a while now 😂)
It’s #SciArtSeptember day two! The prompt is “little-known”, and I’ve just illustration for that. Most people hear “arachnid” and think “spider”, but DYK there are a whole bunch of arachnid orders? Here are just a few of the weird arachnids you might not know about!
Sharing an old piece for #SciArtSeptember #earthy: an ashy storm petrel. In 2005 I interned with @CHISNPS seabird biologists, spending a few nights on Scorpion Rock helping to catch and band a few birds. They're extremely rare and only nest in sea caves on the islands. #sciart
Its #SciArtSeptember! I will try matching my illustrations with prompts provided for the entire month. Today's prompt is 'Earthly' and here is a panel of Cory catfishes. They are bottom dwellers and fit the prompt well I guess! #digitalart #fishsketch #SciArt
Day one of #SciArtSeptember and I’m punting with an old illustration of some fungi for the first prompt: earthy.
Laccase, an extra-cellular enzyme that shapes nutrient balance in the soil. For prompt: earthly.
Hoping to make it at least a week of #SciArtSeptember
#SciArtPortfolioWeek - have a look at this tag. Delight to watch, absorb and admire. A couple of my sciarts to avoid posting a bare tag

This week in Stillingfleet's 1755 #CalendarOfFlora: as ferns turn brown in cooler weather, the Woodlark sings, and Swallows depart. A full moon rises over the Norfolk countryside. #SciArtSunday #LastWeekendOfSummer #biodiversity #nature #SolaceInNature

In time for #InverteFest! Parasites aren't all gross gore. @The_Episiarch explores the overlooked, ecologically important lifestyles of parasites. He's changing the way we talk about them—with the help of Parasite Monster Girls! SciArts article on @scifri: https://t.co/WU0LD104aW
