Man I'm rereading some Malazan rn and the conclusion of The Chain of Hounds is still one of the most heartbreaking and harrowing things I've ever experienced. The whole subplot was just pure despair but that ending really turned it up to 11. It really didnt have to go like this😔

Fun fact: In the old KHF continuity I heavily hinted at a relationship between KHF and Yoko Litner. As a joke on her “Kiss of Death” I was going to have an ongoing subplot about a countdown timer on KHF's palm, ala TWEWY. It would be just as cringy as it sounds! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
