I'm not sure if this is what you mean but, my character Ankhel is a not so very subtle reference to Ancalagon the Black from Tolkien's Silmarillion, which I have never read, in combination with transforming dragon people from Fire Emblem like Dheginsea.

J.R.R. Tolkien's work inspired some great games in the golden era of ZX Spectrum - spent many happy hours playing these:

The Hobbit
The Lord of the Rings
War in Middle Earth

helped me on this, based on her early concept art!

Fun fact: the T-Shirt logo is "Baileys" in Quenya, Tolkien's Elvish language.

Christopher Tolkien has died

JRR Tolkien's son worked diligently to bring us the Silmarillion and related Middle-earth texts

But he also repackaged material in multiple commercial releases and published drafts JRR did not want seen

Where does Tolkien scholarship go from here?

The Lord of the Rings is so influential and so compelling that most people can't imagine that fantasy existed before its publication, much less what it could have been like. In spite of that profound popularity, Tolkien's magnum opus is thoroughly steeped in Christian themes. /2

Thank you!! His name's origin is from Tolkien's "The Hobbit ". One of the dwarfs with long, black and grey hair's name is also Thorin. I thought they looked alike ❤ you should show me everything you got later! I already drew Thorin a few times :) here he is in all his glory.

Ran a poll earlier this week for what should be my Halloween monster drawing and Dullahan won! I based it off of JRR Tolkien's "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight" cause that was one of my favorite books when I was a little girl! (Finished Version)
