Here is a weird thing, a half taur. My girl has a birth defect that gave her front feet, which work and can hold things, as well as an elongated torso. Her body started to form as a taur, but never finished.

Random oc fact: I tried to hide a frog in Chadbot's design, with his shoulders being the eyes and shoulder pads acting as eyebrows. Also the reason he got two random dots on his torso. I did this because his cheeks reminded me of a frog.

The domed shape at the belly is a normal feature on historical knight armor. It allowed for better deflection of attacks towards the torso. The plate actually extends away from the actually stomach of the wearer to allow for padding from blows.

Random study notes :
I realized I've been drawing roughs of the torso the wrong way. Since the shoulders/arms are not a dominant body part it usually moves on its own (if not acting as a counterbalance). So I should stop combining the shoulders with the torso.
