so what I want with an updated maeja design is better defined hair shapes, the hair before was cute but it had a non-existent hairline. I wanted to make the hair more volumetric instead of flat, so imagine her hair spikes as giant cones instead of slices of cardboard

(7/8)Closest sketches before it became final. We wanted a clear state change for combat vs. non. So you can see the idea was to have his chest collapse nicely into his waist to protect all. Hence the curved mid section, and turtling. Spikes were added by Paul Russell.

The spikes along the entire body are designed to fit the personality of the creator. Spiky at first contact, and quite tricky to get to but if you manage to get used to that and avoid them it's all good

The ones on arms are either like 1st pic, or forward, based on anger
