Dont' know - i see it as a logical progression into modernism and abstraction. (The red white & blue fabric on the washing line is prescient).

That 'halfway point' is really interesting, the newer stuff is 'over seen'.

This abstraction of a mandala is, IMO, one of the more interesting pieces in this collection. I personally like how the colored shapes are not completely encompassed within the line work.
And the palette is excellent.
