It's probably due to having less saturation than other modern CN shows (probably why steven turns yellow-ish in the crossover). UG also uses more cornsilk white than the regular digital white, less straining on the eyes and gives off a comic/vintage aesthetic.

I would say Non-binary cuz Pyro usually goes by both he/she at times but also uses they/them. I also say this Pyro is a human because they do have pics of Pyro without their mask (however, I have no idea if they’re official or not).
