Wait... You can color manga with the multiply mode?! My knowledge has been expanded!
Manga is "Please Don't Bully Me, Nagatoro".
|| Am I using a brush meant for painting on a transparent layer on multiply without actually blending it in?
.. yeah. :(
this is a #wip but pls let me be overexcited about this. this is with and without blending mode. cover the entire drawing with a blue multiply layer over an orange overlay layer and you can drastically change the mood of a painting 😩✊

This was also a fun little painting experiment with overlays and multiply layers too :D
Here's an interesting comparison, on the left is how I used to shade where I would shade each individual colour separately, on the right is how I do shading more recently where I use a single colour with a multiply layer for the entire image.

Practicing the 'multiply layer' method of shading, as opposed to my usual method which involves painting light directly onto the colours
THIS IS MY KITSUNE FORM I THINK!
Changed up the eye markings to be a little less SEVERE

I am desperately trying to understand lighting effects and apply them to traditional artwork. This is me screwing around with multiply layers and screen layers trying to understand where to even start. If anyone has tips for doing this traditionally, tell me
