@CaptMarvelology I don't like the spikes on the new version of Conner's original costume. It just... bothers me. Feels like it's trying too hard.
I prefer heroes having more "hero" costumes, so I do like Conner's older costumes over his t-shirt. I thought it was just going to be a... I dunno

Of course we all know that some people like/miss/prefer how "edgy/monstrous/beastly" some Pokemon looked back in the old watercolor style. Y'know, the dynamic poses, extra spikes/spots/teet, etc and feel like the modern reworks stripped away some monstrous characteristics
@kisekisymphony @HypraSeaPea his spikes actually ARE orange in some games, so it isn't totally weird to think that
@social_scifi @DrLavaYT You might've, it's appeared in plenty of places, not just in Japan. You can also see it in a lot of 90's artwork. Also the back sprites in international versions of Red, Blue, and Yellow show the spikes. Easy to miss though because they're just six pixels.
