@Sugar_Cuube my method is to put the sketch on multiply above the color layers, blob all of the colors onto it, and then carve out the shapes i want. it helps me massively to put each color on a different layer (and have one where all are merged). i do the same w shadows+

it's not that deep but i also drew this bc i noticed that even after ember island players, katara seems to still wear her fire nation clothes (except for the training with Melon Lord) thus the red outfit in my fanart ✌️

I paint in the tones of the various elements, so in this case the lighter ruff and darker dress. After that, i merge all the layers, and painting on one layer do a full render with a few different brushes. Pay attention to where hard/soft/invisible edges are.

reworking ref for one of my d&d players, @JustElri . Taift's equipment changed a bit and I didn't have any full body ref either, so here it is!

The Z!Soldier would have the skills of a common zombie. It is a Zombie created by the 'universe' and is defective, since despite having aggressive tendencies with the players, it does not do the job of killing them (although he has killed some villagers on rare occasions).

For cel style work, it's usually a bunch of multiply layers, overlays, screens, and using layers as selection masks etc

My latest commission...this one is a supersized, oil painting on board, inspired by roses in my garden. Verging on an abstract, has so many layers, some areas the oil paint is thickly applied with a palette knife.
