No normal maps or anything crazy. The most work I had to do (other than implementing the shader) was create a "dark" palette. Just shifted everything towards blue! Less than 40 colors total, including the various blues. Took maybe an hour or two.

By the way it's noteable that the colours in the clear file image do have a filter on them, we've seen a couple of the raw sprites (which will appear in the artbook) in some advertisements for the book and the actual colours are much less saturated & using their original palette.
