I’m not good at making a solid composition so I did a few studies. Here’s one of them, based on a Norman Rockwell painting. The first thing I noticed was the red patch, hence why it’s highlighted in (1)

D is just a little smoother C, i used the fluid brush which makes less uh.. "flash strokes" well say!
