speaking of samsho, it's full of great designs but i don't mention enough about how enja taps into my favorite character tropes, 'guy who is always pissed off and yelling gibberish'

"Two different types of people/personalities that share a body and sometimes help out the original person" is one of my favorite tropes in anime tbh. Especially when they butt heads at the start but team up later one.
@Video_Game_King you mean DQ's Golems? I guess it could be considered a reference, but it's more "Dragon Quest permanently altered Japan's depiction of fantasy tropes", and so even subconsciously an artist might draw similar motifs.

7/1/2020. I tried to make a fanfic. It failed in just a few weeks...
I sucked at writing cuz I wasn't in the 9th grade yet learning about some tropes in literature.
So yeahhh... Don't read it. It's just a heads up cuz it was in my mind for a few days, cringing about it.
influences, Western horror movie tropes matching with the Japanese horror elements, and i also love the 1900s Italian porcelain (redacted) in it, just adds more creepy factor throughout the entire sequence.
P.s. ngl, Mother Miranda, and Donna Beneviento are gorgeous tho. 🤔
