Aww, I mean it's not like they don't recreate the calarts and nu-ra styles pretty well, you can see where they draw inspiration.

They might even get a job on a show's assembly line for one of those types of shows if they get noticed.

The flat face + dot nose style is the anime version of the "calarts" style.

It's done in animation because it's cheap and easy, not because it looks good, and when people draw it in non-animated media, it's lazy and peak cringe.
