I never found that a Sci-Fi game on the C64 that gave me that Star Trek "captains bridge" feeling like Psi-5 Trading Company did. Beautiful Accolade presentation. Choose your crew, launch into space, and scramble to evade and destroy enemy ships, while prioritising power/repairs.
Who remembers this #codemasters classic, another one of those awesome 2-Player games they did, great fun this game.

Some older C64 art that I did not release until now, for reasons.

16-BIT SATURDAY: STAR CONTROL In 1990 the forces of the Alliance of Free Stars fought against the predatory Ur-Quan Hierarchy. A stunning Amiga action strategy game from 'Toys for Bob' this also came to other formats #retrogaming #Amiga #Windows #PC #MegaDrive #C64 #90s #gaming

Awesome Cartoon, not so awesome game but still played it loads, #mask the sequels are much better than this original as they featured more vehicles, still fun though.

Even the bosses and the 3D sections.. everything feels just about the same (but a ton prettier) after coming to it from the C64. But, while some sections are tricky here, on the C64 those same sections were sometimes just rage-quit tricky for me now. (Not so bad for young me.) 😁
@merman1974 @JamesPond47 Definitely. I went and played the arcade game in MAME a couple of days later, and was really amazed at how well the levels matched. The C64 version was just a bit harder, because upper/lower levels were more often off screen, and jumping between them was slower.
