Day 2 of #genuary2022: "Dither"
I'm not sure if any of these are technically dithering, but they were a lot of fun to make.

Day 2: Dithering
Only 25% of the pixels were used. Each pixel was replaced with a line. The gray scale of each pixel determines the length, thickness and angle (rad [0-pi[) of each line.

#genuary day 2 - Dithering
I'll be largely offline for the next 4 days so last one until next weekend :)

The hardest part of pixel art in space is getting the smooth dithering and lighting on gasses. Using a gradient brush at ~50% opacity and the 'Jumble' tool gave me this after a lot of experimenting. Kinda like it!

heres a less filtered version + the original drawing since due to all of the dithering and shit it fucking completely destroyed the colors and quality of it when twitter compressed the image
@SAKDGame Though as we found out, dithering doesn't perform so well on the Quest headset.
Felt like rerendering this. Glossy mats on Slinky, lower resolution, different light source, less colours, more dithering, all that shebang
terrified just thinking of what twt compression is going to do to the dithering
Just dropped my latest @fx_hash_ piece - "Hesitance"

Further explorations of dithering and colour

Dithering is fun, especially after learning to make custom brushes in aseprite.
Found an old sketch i made of a friend's characters from his original "manga" called "Wind Flower". I miss reading it XD
I still suck at shading XD

I also have experience with blender, I made the Tails Doll icons, Tails actually was going to have a losing icon, but I decided against it and went with a Senpai style approach. The way I got the dithering was achieved by editing the icons to hell and back, and adding dither lol.
Todays theme from @Pixel_Dailies is #DeerSpirit! This one was rather fun and a good time to test out matrix dithering.

@Maronbeere I used a dithering effect for the shadows and shading, I'm guessing that messes with the image when zooming.
