Since I was young I have been intrigued by a well known figure in Venezuelan folklore. The myth of Yara/Maria Lionza and how she went from the augur of doom for her tribe to a fertility goddess inspires this watercolor study.

In Japanese lore, Old Man of the Moon came to Earth as a beggar and asked the animals for food. All gave except for Rabbit, who told him to build a fire, and jumped in. Quickly the Old Man of the Moon pulled Rabbit from the fire and took him to live on the moon.

Anastasia was a dedicated prankster & was very active to the point that one of her nicknames was “little mischief”.

Her companion Viy is supposedly from folklore, but likely it was an invention by Nikolai Gogol, the author of the novella of the same name.

brought it to my attention that Onis and Kitsunes are actually enemies in Japanese folklore.
Fade, released in Ch2, wears an Oni mask AND has the same Rift abilities as the Fox Clan.
