So I'm using SH3 monster references for some art, and happen to notice this little detail on the Closer monster. It looks like...katakana? is this a signature, or does it say something else (if anything at all?)

Unpopular opinion: it's "Ring" not "Ringu". The title in Japan is written in Katakana (リング). Often used for titles to suggest it should be said in a western pronunciation. Even official Japanese materials use "Ring" not "Ringu". To say the remake title is wrong isn't true.

Still in Togainu no Chi, only 3 characters have their name written in kanji: Motomi (源泉), Takeru (猛) and Yukari (由香里). Everyone else has their name written in katakana.

Interestingly, they're also the only 3 characters who had a strong bond with a family member.
