@MetalGearDmodel @mcghee_nick I'm just guessing, but I think they decided to make the MGS4 boss (B&B unit) a "monster" consisting of a power suit, and when they decided to make the monster look like an animal, they chose Wolf, Raven and other members of FOXHOUND, so they named it the same.

Thinking back to the B&Bs not telling their own story reminds me that Project Itoh took them out of his MGS4 novel entirely.

I remember laughing at how silly the Gekko looked in MGS4 and then they started building real combat robot and I stopped laughing. That thing is 15 years away from chasing Snake around a warzone.

2008年にPSNで配信されたMGS4DBで、相関図モードにするとその時代に登場するメタルギアが背景に現れるんですが1970年のMPOに登場するRAXAは製品版ではなくE3 2006で現地会場で配布されたShowMaybeのシルエットを引用しているんですね。

MG2のゲーム内でもコンテナの上に黄色い文字で書かれていたり、メタルギア20周年の時に津嘉山正種さんナレーションで収録されたPrologue of MGS4でも見れましたが"ZL"は近年の作品では全く出なかったのでかなり貴重です

刀身が変わったのはMGSR→MGRだけだと思ったんですが、MGS4の雷電が持っていた高周波ブレードもMGRの冒頭で再登場した時にはかなり刀身が伸びています。

雷電の強化骨格やブレードのデザインは同じなのでMGS4→MGRで特に変化は起きていないと思ったんですが実はこんな違いがあったんですね。

この話は以前も言った事があったんですが、MGS4のメタルギアRAYには柳瀬敬之さんの発案で鍵十字のマーキングがあるので、MGS2 HDエディションなのにMGS4のRAYが使われているという事になっているんですね。
