The V Stardroids have some interesting designs, they translated well into Mega Man 7 styled sprites. I struggled with Saturn because his ring made his poses hard to read, but I got him done eventually. My favourite sprite is probably Uranus.

It's been done before as the new Tails sprites for the 2011 version of CD were made by "Chimpo" who was previously a part of the Sonic Megamix team led by "Stealth" (Simon Thomley). This connection is probably how "Chimpo" was able to provide new sprites.

Strangely enough, the thing that kicked it off was my attempt to make a sprite comic to prototype my books. And that comic spun out into Bunny Trail Junction, which has ink comics as well as sprites.

It's a common misconception that the exterior of the starting house of Somsnosa (RPG) and Somsnosa's house from share the same sprites. In actuality, they're only similar in general shape.
However, the houses' interiors are practically identical.

tl;dr: Fixed banding, pillow shading, made tone more accurate to official colors but still vibrant, made it closer to S2 Super design, made the body more consistent to normal Sonic (for easier head swapping down the road), and kept the shading closer to the other sprites.
