The Phantom Menace has glorious widescreen vistas packed with color and detail. It’s a wonderful movie to watch. George Lucas is a master of the anamorphic frame and clean, defined compositions & logical pacing. The influences by Lang, Ford & Kurosawa are all on display.

I fucking LOVE how Guy Davis introduces each chapter of SANDMAN MYSTERY THEATRE with a douple-page widescreen panel. Opens up on a really big atmospheric beat - usually a moment of surprise - then cascades into frantic flashes of violence and snappy action. Brilliant storytelling
