Steve Gerber is quickly rising in the ranks of my all time favorite writers. He knocks it out of the park again w/ this Elseworlds tale of a young Clark Kent rocketed to Krypton to avoid Earth's destruction. Doug Wheatley's widescreen art makes this story read like a good movie.

Knightfall, across multiple books/creative teams was amazing, as was the death of Superman a few years prior, also by some top-tier teams. Both added something to their respective legend. The early story arcs of Savage Dragon were widescreen, wonderful, nail-biting madness.

The Phantom Menace has glorious widescreen vistas packed with color and detail. It’s a wonderful movie to watch. George Lucas is a master of the anamorphic frame and clean, defined compositions & logical pacing. The influences by Lang, Ford & Kurosawa are all on display.
