2018: Celeste
It had been years since we were in our Super Meat Boy platforming prime. Celeste single-handedly rekindled our love of swift 2D movement, and it never talked down to us while we were getting our bearings. Plus, we never get tired of seeing it featured at GDQ.
2019

this is one of the first times I felt Inti Creates actually straight up nailed it, with basically no caveats
just the crispest, sickest movement, letting you lock onto enemies with chained air dashes, then unleash a torrent of gunfire on them at once
