@one_to_read Although my first interaction with them was most formative. Smaug has left quite an indelible mark on my reading brain. #BooksNearBedtime
@one_to_read Don’t think there’s been better drawn dragons than those created by Jackie Morris. 👌🏼

@one_to_read I feel like I know so few! Smaug is clearly a classic. I also do love the dragon gag in Wiesner’s Three Little Pigs. #BooksNearBedtime

@one_to_read Continue to develop the quality and ingenuity of them. There are several ‘games’ which have told deeply personal, affective narratives and there’s something in these that I feel could ‘add’ to the reading/reader’s experience. Need to ponder it some more.

@one_to_read Picture books can be painful but it’s these books that are so important for showing children the complexity of the world #BooksNearBedtime
@MrsKirstBarrett @one_to_read I agree! Books like Du Iz Tak? would be impossible without pictures. Not to mention texts like Journey, Tuesday and The Arrival. A whole new layer of interpretive reading is introduced with pictures #BooksNearBedtime
@one_to_read I would say that some of my adult fiction is illustrated. But it comes in graphic novel form. Do you mean something more hybrid? Thinking of ‘Book of Dust’ there’s a few illustrations sprinkled about but visualisation mostly left to the reader.

@one_to_read @LemonsSid Linking somewhat with #ArcadeApril, I’ve been enjoying exploring art and videogame culture.
These two especially delve into Greek Mythology, Artificial Intelligence and Norse Myth so deeply. Computer game narratives have really come on hugely. #BooksNearBedtime
A fantastic #BooksNearBedtime chat tonight! Thank you for every reply! And thanks to #katherinerundell for her essay!
Final question:
Q4: In your opinion, why *should* all grown-ups read children’s books and which ONE book would you put in a sceptical adult’s hands? 😊👍
@VickySharky @sharkager @GregSkomal @SharkAdvocates @SulikowskiLab @MassDFG @SharkTrustUK @NEAQ @lostsharksguy @BritFinucci It's from the old childhood classic 'The Adventures of Peter Rabbit-fish'. I'm surprised you haven't heard of it. 😉Feel free to share. #HappyEaster #SharksNearMe

@one_to_read Hello! I want to recommend The Wild Way Home @KirtleySophie as that’s the last book I read & it’s mindblowingly good but it’s not out until July. So I’ll give shout-out to recent releases in March like Scribble Witch @inky_willis & Crater Lake @JenniferKillick. #BooksNearBedtime
