Continue to develop the quality and ingenuity of them. There are several ‘games’ which have told deeply personal, affective narratives and there’s something in these that I feel could ‘add’ to the reading/reader’s experience. Need to ponder it some more.

Picture books can be painful but it’s these books that are so important for showing children the complexity of the world

I agree! Books like Du Iz Tak? would be impossible without pictures. Not to mention texts like Journey, Tuesday and The Arrival. A whole new layer of interpretive reading is introduced with pictures

I would say that some of my adult fiction is illustrated. But it comes in graphic novel form. Do you mean something more hybrid? Thinking of ‘Book of Dust’ there’s a few illustrations sprinkled about but visualisation mostly left to the reader.

Linking somewhat with I’ve been enjoying exploring art and videogame culture.
These two especially delve into Greek Mythology, Artificial Intelligence and Norse Myth so deeply. Computer game narratives have really come on hugely.
