@MrEFinch @ChagfordCofe @jabberworks I found a signed version of this about 10 yrs ago in Foyles. I hadn’t heard of Sarah’s work then. This was the catalyst for loving what she does!!
Sadly, our four BookChats on the #TirNaNOgAward nominated books have come to an end for this year. Four amazing books to choose from. Four very deserving winners. But which will land the prize? Find out soon! (But read all four because they're all blooming good!) #TNNOBookClub22
What an awfully GOOD book this is! @WelshDragonParr. It's rare for me to feel so engaged by a story from the start to the very end, but this one does it. A real gem! And I'm looking forward to discussing tomorrow at #TNNOBookClub! See you there.

@sarahs_chapter @primaryteachew @smithsmm @TJGriffiths @KateHeap1 @sara13librarian @a_reflective Boy Everywhere, hands down ESSENTIAL. Plus @MichaelRosenYes “On the Move” set of poems.
@LittleGems_SEN @Teacherglitter @richreadalot @karen_wallee @TJGriffiths @MrHtheteacher @teacher_mr_r @Toriaclaire I am a hardened Year 6 teacher and make absolutely no apology here. It may look “young” for the oldest primary kids but it touches a universal and deep-rooted human connection that 10/11 year olds still feel. You see the magic of the season when you read it. @ShirleyHughes_ 🙏
@MrEFinch @ChallenDr @KenilworthBook @sam_creighton @anthony_mcgowan These three books are by far and away some of the most moving depictions of boys’ internal worlds. The writing is descended from the worlds of Ken Kesey and Ted Hughes. All outstanding and I champion all three. @anthony_mcgowan @philearle @RichLambert71
Definitely one of the best and most impactful novels I’ve *ever* read to a Year 6 class. As I read, I felt VERY strongly the change in the children’s perceptions of what a book can do and how it says what it has to. If this isn’t up for every award, there’s no sense in the world.
My class won a virtual visit from #AlyssaHollingsworth this afternoon as part of their @The_UKLA prize. So proud of their thoughtful question and Alyssa was so great with them. I was struck so forcibly by the power of shared (read aloud) stories. I know I say it often, but…🙂
I know I keep banging on about it at the moment but I read a bit of this every day and I truly struggle to put it down. Hands down, one of the strongest books I’ve read of recent years.
Really looking forward to reading this to my class as our last read aloud novel of the year. Chosen by them on Friday. @philearle
