A tip.. use natural media brushes like the default 'Soft Pastel', and blend with a fingerprint brush for smudging by touch (I use brushes from MattyB on https://t.co/z9yVTmRk63) to achieve some nice texture!

ahhh I recently started doing that too! (with the layer mode on color burn) that and i texture my flat colors! it really gives that extra pop! if you use SAI, it the watercolor B texture!
