The base for the effect is really easy!

All it is is a few stacked quads, UV unwrapped in a particular way.

I'll attach a few images here that show the process of setting up the mesh for the basis.

If you want to take it a step further, you'll need to do custom normals.

4. Overfilling UV edges

Idk if there's a better method buuuut:

Paint on the UV map slightly over the edges, so there's no noticeable seams. If I dont do this, you'd be able to notice a distinct white outline anywhere i unwrapped the UVs!

it's like painting outside the lines!
