I kind of feel Parkers dorkiness was a myth born from the Raimi movies. In the comics he was always portrayed a smart kid that was an outsider. But even in the early comics he multiple girlfriends. In the first 50 issues he had Betty Brant, Gwen Stacy and MJ.
