2023/01/05: 200% Mixed Juice!. Very 4th wall breaking RPG game with silly characters. Choose attacks according to the enemy weakness (literal rock/paper/scissors). Battles got repetitive really fast and the story was not very engaging. Played up to the 2nd boss battle.

Saw something recently that reminded me that I owned these characters. I don’t know what it was though, so I can’t link it…(plus art of Rusty)

Another thing. When drawing lips, DO NOT ADD COLOR TO THEM. Kojima very rarely adds color to the lips of her characters. Unless they have lipstick, or some other specific reason, most of her characters have pale lips. Just shade the upper lip and call it good.

One common thing I hear about Kojima’s art style is that she has “same face syndrome” with a lot of her characters. And while I mostly agree, I feel like it’s a disingenuous statement. Kojima has drawn a myriad of characters with very unique faces.

I'm practicing making 2D art of half-furry, half-anime characters. What do you think?

Several portraits of unnamed characters. I'll save them for future stories. I needed a portrait of a psychiatrist suffering from drug addiction.

I just have to share these two side by side! Normally I don’t see any improvement in my style but between 2023 (left) and 2018 (right) I’ve really figured out how to make a proper reference for my characters. Incidentally both were drawn in January

Saw a review for Fire Emblem Engage talking about how characters are tropey and have a consistent shtick and lack the depth of Three Houses characters. My brother in Christ... they all start out like that. Things don't get more nuanced until the 2nd or 3rd support convo usually.
