We distinctly remember people likening the Dead Effect games to DOOM 3 but we never agreed with that.

They don't go for the tense horror vibe and definitely fall more in the more traditional modern shooter sphere, monsters suck too.

this is particularly why I love the art by Keisuke Mizuno. his art style is really dynamic and is an evolution of Inafune's style while still being fresh and having a unique identity. it's kind of a richer version of the "intenseness" you talk about and I think it's neat!!!!!!!!!
