Loving how the greyscale sketchiness of this (old!) WiP actually seems to make it even more menacing.

So it was pointed out to me that during mirror matches in Sonic the Fighters do not have greyscale cards in the pre-matchup graphics. Someone saw this in the Gamecube ver via hacking (left) and I reimplemented it in the right. While this isn't new news, I've never pointed it out.
A warm up #doodle of my #tiefling boy that i made today on my #twitch #stream

My arts aren't actually black and white. I often use pastel or very light colors unless the art is intended to be greyscale or something
Sadist redraw speed run complete, still in awe. I tried something new and did greyscale with some colored lighting. :D #SADistAppreciation #SADistredraw #technofanart #technobladefanart
Had a pretty smooth stream today, greyscale painting took me about over 4 hours. #painting #design #armor #female #krita #digitalart #animeart #lineart #background #texture Have a great weekend guys and ill see you next week! 🖌️✌️
But I DO often use the method of shading the entire drawing with only a few colors or greyscale first and then change it later. Clipping colors to my layers makes that process easier/more free to me and can focus on the lighting and shapes more
Step 3:
Separate your character(s) from the background (and from each other) by giving each of them a base colour.
Your greyscale rendering layer will now become a "Multiply layer" That way you can colour underneath it.
