Quite bold of a martial artist to specialize in dark types. I think a trainer like that would have a Scrafty and a Pangoro, both dual Fighting/Dark types. Fighting types that are weak to other fighting types, quite bold indeed. You would likely train with Johto Gym Leader Chuck.
