I see that “You’re not a real artist if you use refs” is making the rounds again. Hello, it is me, a Professional Artist. Here’s proof that I USE REFERENCES.

Amateurs think they have to do it alone to Prove Themselves.

Professionals know that they can’t do it without help.

The words out, and that word is "MONSTERS"! Thank you guys so much for your wonderful words and comments. It was very fun working with ns , who animated THE WHOLE VIDEO in record time. My part of the project was providing storyboards scene concepts and references.

Worked on the map for Moonlight Tavern today! I want to upload a gif but it just messed up the colors so bad.
Btw, there isn't a place like this in my country so I have to search around to find the references. Hope it's okay now 😅

Still everyone has his own art style and preferences. Some reworks were made. Dangerous on such projects but I supported the changes to make it best. And to slow down artist's exhaustion. Working on something that other person started can be not of a big fun.

Full Powered Jiren. This is my second time drawing and honestly, his proportions are kinda inconsistent when looking at his references. But overall, I did a good job.

School project!

We were assigned to make a flat vector artwork of a god in just five colors. I've chosen the japanese goddess of the sun, Amaterasu, under the influence of ukiyo-e art style and a little bit of floral references.

What do you think?

Hi! I'm Tarmika. Started digital art about 8 months ago. I'm still learning and practicing, mostly drawing animals from photo references. But I love fantasy too :)
