The ocean is a mirror that reflects the colour of the sky. Today around the UK the lapping warm waters are jade green to aquamarine blue, reflecting a cerulean blue sky. I find it is always a challenge to capture the glassy surface with watercolour.

Oh dude I feel your pain. Whenever I do dragon people I always have to have a narrow base of the wing to work with clothing. I did this style like 10 years back where there is an extra structure at the base to increase surface area without getting the clothing issue.
