I put a ton of credits into the Karate Champ arcade game. The two-joystick controls was really cool once you got the hang of it. So I was surprised when someone was able to think up a way of getting just about as many moves out of a game on the humble C64. Saved me much money. 😁

International Karate came onto the scene surprisingly quickly, and IMHO did somewhat take the wind out of the sails of Exploding Fist. The animation of IK was smoother, there was a Hubbard soundtrack and it was slick as only an Archer Maclean game could be. But they're both good.

Exploding Fist was the first game that gave C64 owners a decent version of Karate Champ at the arcades. (I was really addicted to the arcade game, so I was super happy to be able to get hold of this.) 😁 And while it was the only kid on the block, Fist truly did reign supreme. 👍
