One of cinema's most brilliant directors, Billy Wilder was born in Poland OTD in 1906. At least half of his entire filmography consists of nothing but classics. He died in 2002.
A happy 20 years to the little film with large staying power. Lilo & Stitch was THE movie of summer 2002; I was taken to the theater at least four times. It's emotional depth, memorable characters and wonderful watercolor backgrounds are just part of it's charm.
