Great Bascinet from 1430 and overlap of modern replica. One of my favourites as its like the bascinet of the Wolf of Badenoch who is famous for burning Elgin Cathedral in 1390. He also played chess with the Devil before he died during a thunderstorm at Ruthven Castle in 1405.

After a break of a month or so it was lovely to be back out with a Ramblers group today and get that Badenoch & Strathspey were No.53 of 54. Just one group left to go!! 😮
