The Cat-Witch of Laggan, a ruthless killer, feared throughout all Badenoch.
The Cat-Witch was cruel and fearsome, and many lives were taken by her or by one of her kind, in the days of the bodysnatchers.

Wolf of Badenoch's Tomb with location of hinge for attaching a vented battle visor or a smooth unvented jousting visor. Both visors overlap/lock at the neck giving double thickness to throat area. As lance strikes cut thru mail aventails in this area in the past.

10 February 1305, Robert Bruce, Earl of Carrick, stabbed and killed Sir John Comyn, Lord of Badenoch, and rival claimant to the throne, before the high altar in Greyfriar’s Kirk, Dumfries, for which he was excommunicated by the Pope, Clement V.

The wicked laird they called the ‘Wolf of Badenoch’ died horribly, torn apart, they say, by a demon he himself had raised. This story and others like it in TERROR TALES OF THE SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS. https://t.co/sViL3AsM3W

Great Bascinet & overlap of modern replica. My favourite as its like the bascinet of the Wolf of Badenoch who burnt Elgin Cathedral in 1390 & played chess with the Devil before dying during a thunderstorm at Ruthven Castle (1405).

Some more of My Scottish Historical Heros. Alexander Ramsay of Dalhousie (of Dunbar siege fame). Archibald 'The Grim' Douglas. George Red Douglas, who defeated the Black Douglas armies and Alexander 'The Wolf of Badenoch' who burnt down Elgin Cathedral to annoy the Bishop.

Great Bascinet from 1430 and overlap of modern replica. One of my favourites as its like the bascinet of the Wolf of Badenoch who is famous for burning Elgin Cathedral in 1390. He also played chess with the Devil before he died during a thunderstorm at Ruthven Castle in 1405.
