The Queen is depicted here in the 1898 stained glass window in Town Hall. Her troops swept down from to raid Colchester in AD60, nothing was spared no building or person what ever age was left standing.

This amazing image by Peter Lorimer imagines how dead were laid to rest. The Romans knew it was unhealthy to keep bodies within the city walls, so the roads leading from Colchester would have been lined with tombstones.
