HMAS Sydney (III) was a aircraft carrier operated by the @Australian_Navy from 1948-73 in a number of roles. Sydney served in the Korean War and is seen in that configuration, operating Sea Fury and Firefly fixed wing aircraft and a Sikorsky Dragonfly helicopter.
#OTD/86, @ANMMuseum's HMAS Vampire (D11) was decommissioned after a 27 year career during which she steamed 808,026 nautical miles.
