I just recently found out about this extremely large Otodus megalodon specimen. It was estimated at 28m long and weights over 260 tons. It's far larger than normally accepted size of megalodon (15-20m and 50-120 tons). I'm not even sure megalodon could grow that large.

Otodus megalodon will always be my favorite shark and prehistoric predator. Simple, because it's a big shark, and i like it so much. Also, it's technically the largest prehistoric animal ever discovered in Indonesia.

My attempt at quantifying expected body robusticity of O. megalodon using a 3D model and projected masses based on C. carcharias. I think many reconstructions go a bit overboard concerning the bulk; At 14 m, body should be ~5.5% deeper and wider than isometry, at 20 m ~7.5%
