2. Braamcamp owned 380 paintings by great masters, such as Rembrandt's Storm on the Sea at Galilee (sadly stolen), works by Dou, and 10 Metsus! He also collected non-Dutch masters such as Watteau, drawings, ivory objects, statues, silver, Chinese porcelain, Japanese lacquer etc.

I know this portrait was painted in 1663 by Ferdinand Bol, Rembrandt's pupil, but if you take away the clothes, that face you could see sitting opposite you on the Tube or giving you a parking ticket.

Painted in 1633, Rembrandt's only seascape gained notoriety in recent years for unexpected reasons. Stolen in one of the biggest art heists in history, the mystery around its theft remains thick.
In the meantime, may we suggest laser motion sensors for your sock drawer? 🔒

"Storm on the Sea of Galilee" is Rembrandt's only known seascape.
It was stolen in 1990 from the Gardner Museum in Boston with a number of other paintings, and has never been recovered.

What an incredible painting...

I saw some dumb article saying these paintings are terrible. It's so dumb, all of these are absolutely fantastic.

In order (🔢): de Goya's "Tío Paquete" (portrait of a local blind man), van Gogh's "The Potato Eaters", Rembrandt's "Stone Operation", Manet's "Fishing"

Young Man
I personally like Rembrandt's Kiaroscuro technique, which expresses light and darkness dramatically. To express a young character like that I tried.
